What is the surgical technique for labiaplasty?
Some labiaplasty procedures are performed in our private offices, requiring only local anesthetic. If your surgical plan involves more complex work, you may need general anesthesia and will need to arrange another adult to drive you home following your procedure. Our plastic surgeons can discuss your custom treatment plan at your appointment so you can plan your surgery.
Labiaplasty can be performed with a “trim” technique that removes excess skin and tissue and then sutures the skin so it is restored and taut. Another alternative, the “wedge” method that involves removing a triangular section of skin and tissue and any excess folds that cover the clitoris before stitching the remaining tissue.
