What Should I Expect During the Procedure?
If you’d like to undergo microneedling with PRP treatment, your first step will be to have a consultation with one of our medical providers at North Shore Cosmetic Surgery. The doctor will discuss the treatment with you, evaluate your aesthetic goals, and answer any questions you have.
To begin the procedure, a topical anesthetic will be applied to the targeted area. While your skin is becoming numb, a syringe of blood will be drawn, likely from your arm. The blood will then be spun in a centrifuge to separate the platelet-rich plasma from the other components. Next, your doctor will move a handheld microneedling device over your skin, which will create tiny punctures. Finally, the PRP solution will be applied to the treatment area, where it will be absorbed into the microneedling wounds. In total, the procedure should take around 45 minutes.
