Are There Any Side Effects?
Dysport has been known to cause some side effects in certain patients, most of which are minor. The most common side effects include:
- Injection site pain
- Nose and throat irritation
- Headache
- Upper respiratory infection
- Eyelid drooping
- Skin reaction
- Nausea
- Sinus inflammation
In very rare cases, the neurotoxin in Dysport can spread to other areas of the body, which can cause a serious condition called botulism. Patients who experience any of the following symptoms should seek medical care right away:
- Vision problems
- Significant muscle weakness
- Trouble speaking, breathing, or swallowing
- Loss of bladder control
