Dr. Yee Cheng Low is a double board-certified plastic surgeon in Long Island specializing in both aesthetic and reconstructive surgery on the face, breast, and body in the Long Island and New York City areas.

Dr. Low is originally from Malaysia and is fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese, and Malay. His roots give him a different perspective into the concept of beauty and he aims to deliver to his patients a result that is both beautiful yet natural.

Physician and artist

As a physician and an artist, he utilizes different surgical and nonsurgical techniques to help his patients achieve the optimal result that they desire. Every patient is individualized, and he takes into account their desires and goals.

Skills and specialties

Dr. Low performs breast augmentations and lifts, tummy tucks, mommy makeovers, rhinoplasties, face and neck lifts, eyelid surgery, breast reconstruction following mastectomy or lumpectomy for breast cancer, amongst many other procedures. He also employs nonsurgical treatments to rejuvenate the aging face as well as correcting asymmetries.

Education

Dr. Low came back to Long Island after a long hiatus because he misses the area and its natural beauty. He completed his undergraduate education at Stony Brook University and was awarded the Ward Melville Valedictorian Award for his graduating class of 2004. He then continued on at Stony Brook University for his medical education. He was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha chapter of Stony Brook University, which honors the top graduates of his graduating year of 2008.

Surgical training and board certification

He completed his general surgery training at New York University Medical Center and then went on to pursue his Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery training at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN. He trained with some of the brightest minds in plastic surgery, including Dr. Bruce Shack, Dr. Patrick Maxwell, Dr. Jack Fisher amongst others. It was here that he was able to mold and further refined his techniques. He is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and by the American Board of Surgery which makes him a double-board certified plastic surgeon with many years of experience.

Researcher and teacher

To help further the field of plastic surgery, Dr. Low took a year off during his general surgery residency to do research in the New York University Plastic Surgery Labs. He had the opportunity to work under great mentors and published his work in nationally recognized journals in Plastic Surgery. Dr. Low loves to teach and during his tenure at Lehigh Valley Health Network, he was awarded multiple teaching awards by his residents and peers.
